Program Overview

The fmi Introduction to Leadership Program is a practical and effective way to develop people to supervisory level. The program covers essential leadership skills that can be applied directly to leadership in the workplace. It is ideal for people newly promoted to the position of supervisor or team leader.

The program covers three key areas:
1. Leadership
2. Operational Plans
3. Team Effectiveness

Particiapnts are assessed against these three key areas and isssued with a nationally recognised Key Management Skill Set.

The program helps participants develop the skills and strategies to develop team performance goals and performace indicators. It also gives practical insight in planning, implementing, monitoring and recording key performance to achieve business plans. Participants will also develop useful tools for team and project planning that can be applied directly in the workplace. The importance of feedback for continuous improvement in the workplace is also explored.

The program is nationally recognised as a Key Management Skill Set. The competencies meet the basic industry requirments for a supervisor. The Key Management Skill Set is the ideal qualification for a new supervisor.
Upon completion of the program participants can choose to map course units to a higher level of study such as the Certificate IV in Frontline Management or Diploma of Management.
