Overview of Course

There is an increasing demand on managers at all levels to improve performance in the workplace. One of the most powerful ways for a manager to improve performance is through coaching people on their team. Coaching is now viewed as a fundamental part of a manager’s role.

This practical hands-on course gives strategies and techniques for identifying key areas where there is a need for coaching, planning the coaching, carrying out coaching, arranging for practice and assessing the improved performance.
This is a very valuable skill development opportunity for every manager’s toolkit!! You can start applying the principles and skills immediately for improved performance.

A Learning Guide is provided for this course. It contains notes and can be used for participant’s own notes.

Assessment

Assessment is optional, it is your choice. However, if you wish to gain a qualification, assessment must be completed.

Participants may be assessed in this course against the relevant unit of competency standards. Assessment is through work based or work related assessment projects.
Participants who are being assessed will be given FMI Assessment Guides for the competency unit that explain in detail the assessment. They will also be given an Assessment Introduction that explains in detail the assessment procedures and policy.
Assessment Fee is included in the Course Fee. Assessment must be completed within 4 months of course completion or a scheduled assessment fee will be applicable.

Time: 9am to 4.45pm
In addition to the time spent in-group or self-study learning you will be learning in the work place and with your mentor. Your previous experience and the time you spend at work developing your skills and completing assessment projects also contribute to the duration of this Course.
The location is close to the Sydney CBD. You will be advised of the exact location by email one week prior to commencement.
