The FMI Management Development Programs develop and enhance knowledge and skills in management and leadership. They are based on the latest researched and recognised competency standards. FMI delivers courses and accredited management programs nationally in Australia, New Zealand and globally that lead to internationally recognised Frontline Management Qualifications including:

These programs are suitable for a range of people in management positions including supervisors, frontline managers, middle managers and executive level managers. Fmi also has specific courses for new managers and supervisors. An analysis of the needs of the organisation/team/individual can be done so that the program can tailored to suit the specific needs that are identified.

We also have a range of short courses and public courses on management and supervision that are available either in house at your organisation or at our headquarters in Sydney. We also have management coaching services available as well as open learning programs.

FMI Learning Modules

Learning and Assessment Options
FMI offers a variety of flexible learning and assessment options. You can mix and match options to suit your needs. For example:
- In-house training in your organisation
- FMI Public Courses in Sydney
- Open Learning
- Recognition Processes (RPL & RCC)

Work Based Development
A significant element of competency development in FMI programs is through structured work based development. This includes:
- Review of current management competency
- Improvement Projects carried out in the workplace to develop and demonstrate competency
- Working with a Mentor in the organisation to improve performance

Mentoring System
FMI's Management Development Programs all use a workplace Mentoring System. Participants use the assistance of another manager - one who is experienced in the area - to develop themselves as a manager. This person plays a significant role as a Mentor through the program and advises and signs off on workplace improvement projects in the program.

FMI helps organisations establish a Mentoring System for the program participants. This system includes Mentor Training and Mentor Support. FMI can manage the logistics of the Mentoring Program for organisations. FMI can even supply Mentors if people are not available in your organisation.

Learning Guides
All FMI course participants receive Learning Guides which are based on FMI's specialist knowledge and research with clients. The Learning Guides provide valuable up to date information about management and have relevant activities for participants to complete. Learning Guides are provided as printed Training Manuals for face to face training and are available for Open Learning Participants emailed in Microsoft Word format to anywhere in the world.

Program Customisation
The Frontline Management Institute can tailor these programs to meet the individual requirements of client organisations.

The Frontline Management Institute can provide a customised FMI Knowledge Bank service to organisations to record and identify summaries of workplace improvement projects. These are supplied to the organisation for access on the organisation’s intranet. Other managers in the organisation can then access details of the improvements made and so leverage these improvements throughout the organisation. This is particularly useful for national and international clients such as BOC and Bovis Lend Lease.

Government Funding may be available to Employers for new and existing Employees who register for the Certificate III in Business (Frontline Management) or the Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) qualifications. FMI would be pleased to advise Employers how to apply.
