Welcome to this September 2008 issue of the Frontline Management Institute newsletter. As I write this, Spring has finally arrived in Sydney after one of the coldest winters we have known here for a long time. There have been lots of developments at fmi since I last wrote. We are welcoming Peter Dawson as fmi Account Director and we have also taken on three further trainers as we expand. We have been working with clients based in China, Russia and Europe as well as throughout Australia.
I would like to thank all our clients who make our work so interesting and challenging and our fmi team who are a joy to work with!

Kindest regards
Larry Lucas

fmi team news

Welcome to Peter Dawson
It is my great pleasure to announce that Peter Dawson has joined the fmi team as fmi Account Director. In this role he will be meeting clients and helping them design training and support services that best meet their needs. Peter was most recently in the role of Organisational Development Manager at Weyerhaeuser Australia where he led management development. This was a client of the Frontline Management Institute and so we know Peter well from this role and he understands fmi programs well from a client’s perspective.

Peter has also held senior Learning and Development Manager and OD Manager roles at a variety of companies including Telstra, Honeywell and IAG

Peter holds a degree in Adult Eduction from the University of Techology Sydney.

With Peter’s great practical experience of Learning and Development I am sure you will find him very helpful to all clients and a great addition to the fmi team.

Ruby back from Europe
Our Marketing Manager Ruby Lucas has recently returned from her 2 month trip to Europe. She was lucky enough to enjoy the sun of the Mediterranean while we were enduring the cold of winter here! It’s great to have Ruby back and we’re glad to hear that she had a safe and exciting journey.

Client News

COGNIS program

We are delighted to have partnered recently with CEGOS, the global management consultancy. We delivered for them a Sales Negotiation program for Cognis in Melbourne. We were working with CEGOS through their regional office in Shanghai and were also liaising with their European head office – so it was a very international affair! Thanks to all the folks at CEGOS especially Raymond Xia and Hartmut Johnk and to Linda Child and Roger Taylor of Cognis Australia. Val and Jeremy from the fmi team did a great job, thanks to you guys.

Applied Bio Systems

I really enjoyed meeting Nicola Lynch of Applied Biosystems recently and working with her to tailor a program in Marketing Communication. Nicola had a very clear idea of her specific needs and we were able to devise a program focusing on those needs for her team. Thanks Nicola it was a pleasure to work with you!

NRMA completion and diploma conversion

I am delighted to say that we have now completed delivery of a Certificate IV program in Frontline management for the NRMA and also a Diploma Conversion workshop for selected participants from both Sydney and Gosford. We are now looking forward to the graduations. Thank you Allarah and Susan from the NRMA for all the hard work you put in to making this program a success.

Other fmi client news

As we finish up with NRMA program, we welcome a range of other clients such as Wideform, Edwin Shirley Staging, Macquarie Group Ltd, Unwired Australia, Coffs Harbour City Council, Vodafone, RSPCA, BBC , Worldwide Aust, Sydney Water, Baycorp Pty Ltd, M5 East Motorway, Illawarra Coal BHP, Ben Sherman and Dulux Australia and many others. We’d like to thank all of clients as they have been great to work with.
