Welcome to this edition of the fmi Blueprint Newsletter from the Frontline Management Institute.

With the new Financial Year now well and truly underway, many of our clients are commencing enrolment in our Public Courses or Management Development Programs.

Due to the $4,000 per person government funding available, many eligible fmi clients are now also upgrading from the Certificate IV in Frontline Management to the Diploma of Management.

The fmi team are excited to assist all individual and corporate clients in achieving their best possible qualification.

In this edition you can read about:

$120 million Return on Investment for fmi Clients

The Frontline Management Institute analysed direct results to client businesses over a four year period, measured through the fmi Strategic Workplace Improvement Projects (SWIP). Returns to our clients in terms of savings and increased income exceeded $120 million, or an average return of $30 million dollars a year. These business related projects show proven dollar outcomes and provide an excellent return on client investments in fmi development programs!

If you would like to discuss using fmi Project Based Development, please give us a call to discuss your organisation’s needs.

fmi Launches Certified Praticing Manager

Here at fmi we are very excited about the new Certified Practising Manager (CPM) program. CPM allows experienced managers to keep up to date with the application of professional management standards. Managers can use the initial “CPM” and can update this qualification annually. It is easy to complete and is focused on what managers achieve at work.

For individuals, the program is a great way to show they are keeping up to date as a manager and helps when seeking career development. For organisations, the Certified Practising Manager can be tailored to fit in with Performance Management and is a simple and effective way to keep track of management development.

For further information on the Certified Practising Manager please contact our offices and we will be happy to talk you through this dynamic new service. We will be holding free information sessions for anyone who wants to book in on 02 9660 0199.

fmi Coaching

Our unique one-on-one coaching initiative continues to be popular.

Over the past few months we have been meeting with a growing number of organisations to discuss their coaching needs.

Even the most technically talented staff can experience some difficulty making the transition to a managerial role.

fmi coaching can enhance the management skills of already great staff, so that they may develop into exceptional people managers.

Please view our Coaching and Mentoring website for more information on this service.

fmi Introduces Improved Feedback System

Responding to interest from clients, fmi has introduced a post-workshop Training Evaluation Report. This detailed report provides quantitative scores in an easy to read graph format as well as qualitative feedback. It is now part of our standard service for corporate clients. For Frontline Management programs we can now give clients evaluation feedback on many levels, including the four levels in the well-known Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. These evaluations measure:

· reaction of participant - what they thought and felt about the training in fmi Evaluation Reports

· learning - the increase in knowledge or capability measured through graded assessments in specific competencies

· behaviour - extent of behaviour and capability improvement and implementation/application through Strategic Workplace Improvement Projects

·  results - the effects on the business or environment resulting from the participant's performance. There are quantifiable outcomes that clients can identify through the customised fmi Knowledge Bank©

The Frontline Management Institute can clearly demonstrate significant results at all levels of evaluation.

In addition to these corporate clients, we have a number of individual participants we would like to welcome to fmi.

A special welcome back to Sprocket Coghlan of Marshall Aerospace! Following a workshop last year, Sprocket decided to enrol in a complete Diploma of Management with us.

We are extremely excited to be working with such a range of clients from diverse industries. This reflects fmi’s ability to tailor training programs to meet the individual needs of each and every client.

fmi Featured Client - SNP Security

As mentioned in our last newsletter, fmi has commenced the second intake of the Management Development      Program with SNP Security, one of Australia's longest running private security firms.

With staff operating in all areas of security, SNP has seen the value of training their staff in a broad range of skills.

Recently, several staff and I from fmi met with representatives of SNP Security, the NSW Government Department of Education and Communities and the Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) to discuss the broader scope of SNP’s training programs.

We all came away impressed and proud to be a part of such a strong initiative to help develop a company work force.

It is a pleasure to work with clients who are so keenly focused on the professional development of their team such as SNP Security and their representatives Darlene Winston and Emma Watson.

fmi Team Update

Firstly we would like to welcome back from maternity leave Lucy Sinclair, our Client Services Coordinator. Congratulations on having beautiful baby girl.

Congratulations also to Sally O'Neil, our Client Program Manager from the UK, who has been granted a Business Long Stay Visa here in Australia. Sally is a direct point of contact to many of our clients and is a valuable member of the fmi team. We are delighted she will be staying on with us.

We would also like to welcome our newest Trainer, Kerrie Yates, to the team. Kerrie is based on the New South Wales Central Coast and will be running courses for us in that region as well as in the greater Sydney area.

We also wish a sad "Bon Voyage" to our Strategy and Marketing Director, Ruby Lucas, as she sets off on a six and a half month adventure to Southern and Central America. Ruby has been instrumental in promoting the face of fmi ever since her first day. We wish her all the best in her travels.
